Blog > Peter Sargent & Sutcliffe attending XK70 Jaguar Festival
October 13th 2017
We're delighted to announce that Peter Sargent will be attending the XK70 Jaguar Festival. The British privateer shared two E-types with Peter Lumsden during the 1960s – 898 BYR, a very early production roadster in which they finished fifth at Le Mans in 1962, and 49 FXN, the famous low-drag Lightweight. The latter was modified with the help of Dr Samir Klat, who will be travelling from Finland to Shelsley for the event. They’ll be joined by 49 FXN itself, as well as its current owner – Adam Lindemann. And finally, another famous Jaguar name will be there in the shape of Peter Sutcliffe, who raced a D-type before acquiring a Lightweight E-type in 1963. Sutcliffe later went on to race a Ferrari 250GTO and a GT40 at Le Mans.
We're working on a full programme of events and attractions for both days of the Festival and there is sure to be something for everyone. Action on the Hill will be several classes of competition on the Saturday, and cavalcades and demonstration runs on the Sunday. There will be a chance for a drive or ride yourself. Apart from the Hill competition, we'll have an enviable display of classic Jaguars and plenty of historic and seriously important Jaguars on which to feast your eyes.
